Christine is a mother to two girls and is passionate about helping parents and educators find and access quality resources about learning and attention “gifts.” As a child, Christine struggled to learn how to read, write and spell in elementary school. While those struggles continued into high school and college, she was determined to attend and graduate Texas A&M with a degree Curriculum and Instruction. Her passion to help other parents has grown as she researched information for her own children while advocating for them to have appropriate instructional interventions and accommodations in public school. She is a former public classroom teacher and worked for ten years as a unit teacher at an Adolescent Behavioral Health Center. Currently, Christine works part-time as an Assistive Technology Consultant, helping schools and teachers provide students with access to technology as a tool to learning and showcasing a student’s potential. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. We are thankful to have Christine on our StandUpLD team.
